Maico Hernandez has been a member of CommUnify’s Board of Directors since 2021. Mr. Hernandez has worked as a Logistics Coordinator with Babe Farms for the past six years, where he also works with local field workers and their families to connect them with all the educational opportunities available to their children.

Mr. Hernandez was raised in Santa Maria and attended Santa Maria High School. He graduated from California State University - Long Beach with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Chicano Studies and a minor in Sociology. It was at Long Beach State where he discovered his passion for working with high school students, mentoring them through the college application process and showing them a pathway to higher education. In his words, “I felt the need to help first generation children have the ability to go to college and “pay it forward.”  In his spare time, Mr. Hernandez volunteers as a soccer league coach for youth 8 years of age and younger.
